Day 8 - A Two Thousand Year Old Boat!

This is what the 2,000 year-old boat would have looked like.

When they started excavating it and air hit the wood, it started to crumble.  Their solution was to spray this foam all around the inside and outside of the boat so they could safely lift it out of the Sea of Galilee, and safly preserve it.

Here it is!  Isn't it amazing?

My mom said she saw a documentary about this boat a while ago but didn't know it was here. I just found a clip about it on Youtube if you're interested.
