Day 7 - Church of the Annunciation

This church is built on the site they believe the angel announced to Mary she would become the mother of the Savior of the world.

Inside is the spot they think the angel came. We had to hurry out because they were starting a 6:00 PM church service.

Next to the church is an excavation of the ancient village of Nazareth.

The church has beautiful artwork from many places around the world celebrating Jesus and Mary. 

We never did find one from the USA, but that doesn't mean there isn't one.
